Shark Tooth Collecting Oct. 8-11, 2009 and April 8-11, 2010
Megalodon Sharks are prehistoric sharks that were huge compared to the sharks of today. They are long gone, but in certain spots in the country you can still dive and find their fossilized teeth. These teeth are really cool finds - there are teeth down there that are 6'' long! On this trip we will visit Venice Beach, FL to dive for these ancient fossilized shark teeth.

Join Atlantic Edge and the Coral Restoration Foundation on a unique diving experience in the Florida Keys.  Palau, Feb. 20-Mar. 10, 2010
This area of the Pacific that is home to the islands of Micronesia is expansive and has a list of adventures to match. A hotbed of activity during World War II, these islands are home to some of the world’s most famous wreck dives. In addition to World War II wrecks and incredible reef diving, the Palau archipelago has unique excursions including Jellyfish Lake, where you can swim or snorkel among millions of non-stinging creatures, an experience not-to-be-missed. Micronesia’s culture also runs strong throughout the islands but perhaps Yap provides the one of the best opportunities to experience their unique way of life. Here you can stroll down stone paths through villages where mammoth exhibits of stone money denote wealth and social standing of its owner. But as incredible as this cultural experience is, it is the diving around Yap that attracts most visitors and the opportunity to dive with its population of resident manta rays. Divers can supplement their manta encounters with incredible wall, pass and cavern dives.

Crystal River, FL - Manatee Encounter Dec. 17-20 or Jan. 21-24
Whether you are a brand new diver looking for some fun dives or if you've been diving for years and are looking for something unique, this trip will fit the bill. In three days you will see more variety and unique things than a whole week in other places. We will snorkel with manatees, do a drift dive in the crystal clear waters of the Rainbow River and dive one of the most unique diving environments anywhere in Devil's Den. We will start with a manatee snorkel - you will get up close and personal with a manatee, which is an awe inspiring experience. Next we will do a drift dive in the Rainbow River. The Rainbow River is so clear, sometimes it's hard to tell that you're in water at all. It is fed by an underground aquafir and in places you can see the new spring water 'bubbling' up out of the sand. Devil's Den is an underground cave with naturally formed swim throughs to explore. It's a great experience for brand new divers and is completely safe, but its also exciting for experienced divers.

Bahamas Lionfish Study, June. 2-6, 2010
Pacific Lionfish in the Caribbean are a fast moving, voracious invasive species that immediately threaten the reef system as we know it. Lionfish in the Caribbean have no natural predators, and can decimate the population of small fish on a reef by as much as 80% in just a few short months! This trip will be one of a series of trips Atlantic Edge is sponsoring aimed at analyzing and eradicating the Lionfish problem in the Bahamas.
