How Does the Learn to Dive Course Work?
The Learn to Dive course is a very simple, convenient way to learn to Scuba Dive. The course takes place over the course of one weekend. Each day, we will spend 1/2 of the day in the classroom and the other half in the pool. When you register for class, you can come by and pick up your book and dvd or we can ship them to you. In
your book there are 5 chapters. Before class, you should read the chapters and complete the short series of questions at the end of each chapter called the knowledge reviews. We will go over any questions you have on any subject in the book, take our quizzes and then spend as much time in the pool as possible.

What Do I Need to Have to Participate in the Learn to Dive Course?
Nothing, short of a bathing suit and towel. Your materials (your own book & a dvd to use) are included in your $295 registration fee. We will provide mask, fins, snorkels, wetsuits, tanks, weights, bc's and regulators - everything you need to go diving. At the completion of class you return the DVD, or you can opt to purchase your own copy if you would like.

Other shops require me to buy mask, fins & snorkel. Do you really provide them?
Yes. We recognize that you may not want to spend the money on a sport you are not sure if you will like or not without even trying it. We want the Learn to Dive course to be as accessible to as many people as possible, so we provide everything. Of course we reccomend you have your own mask, snorkel & fins
but we are more than happy to provide them for you.

I did the Learn to Dive course in the pool, now I want to get certified. What's Next?
Once you have done your class and pool training, all you need to do to get your Dive Certification is your training dives. You can do this in one of two ways. You can complete your training dives with us on any one of our training dive weekends, or you can do your training dives with any dive shop anywhere in the world. If you want to finish up with us, visit our webiste
or stop by the store and register for a training dive weekend. If you want to finish elsewhere, this is called a referral. We will give you paperwork that says you have succesfully completed your class and pool work. You arrange to do your training dives with a shop at the destination of your choice, and give them the referral paperwork upon your arrival.

What Training Agency Do You Work With?
Our courses are exclusively PADI courses. PADI is the largest and most recognized training agency in the world. A PADI certification is universally accepted, wherever you may find yourself wanting to dive.

What Do I Need to Provide If I am Doing Training Dives With You?
If you decide to get certified and do training dives with us, we will still provide all gear short of mask, fins & snorkel.
Where Do You Do Your Training Dives?
We have two options for conducting your training dives. In the summer months we have training dives locally at Lake Millbrook in Haymarket, VA. We also offer training dives in Fort Lauderdale.
Why Would I Do Dives With You vs. Doing Them on My Vacation?
Doing your dives with us gets you all done with your certification before you go on your next trip, so on your trip you can just relax and dive. We have options for you that give you some flexbility in choosing how to finish. Our local training dives at Lake Millbrook offer a cheap, convenient way to get the dives done in a weekend. If you don't want
to be a lake diver, check out our Fort Lauderdale dives, which are offered year round. You can finish up your certification while having a fantastic warm-water diving experience!

Do You Charge a Processing Fee for the Referral Paperwork?
No. We will be more than happy to put your referral paperwork together. All that we ask is that you give us a day or two notice so that we can have it prepared for you when you arrive to pick it up.

Your course is so short. Will it work for me?
Our course is offered in an accelerated format. For the majority of students, this format is highly succesful. If you have attention span difficulties, you may want to consider a course that is offered at a slower pace. If you have any questions on whether this is the right course for you, please give us a call to discuss.
