Dive in the National Aquarium in Baltimore ($195)

That's right, you heard us - DIVE in the National Aquarium in Baltimore! Atlantic Edge Dive Center is proud to partner with the National Aquarium in Baltimore to offer the best diving in Maryland— dive in the beautiful Atlantic Coral Reef tank and experience all the abundant life from a perspective only a few ever get to experience . Led by our professional dive staff, participants will be taught the basics of Aquarium diving before taking the plunge into our world of rays, sharks, and 53 species of fish. As you swim amongst these fascinating creatures, you will also learn the role divers can play in reef conservation and how to be a steward of our precious natural resources. On dive days there are three scheduled start times to choose from – 1:45pm, 2:45pm and 3:45pm. There is a brief classroom session where we will learn about the Aquarium, its conservation message, the animals we will see, etc. We will then brief at the exhibit, get ready to dive and then hop into the water! You would have to travel around the globe to experience a day of diving like this, but with this fun-filled experience you can have it all right here in your own backyard! Prerequisites - Must be a Certified Diver. Must be 18 years old.

Great session! I've been trying to align my travel to the east coast and the dive schedule for 2 years, and finally got it to work. Well worth the wait, even with the new single tank schedule. Registration was easy on line and via telephone. FAQs and the print-outs laid everything out.

Class session was interesting, but the walk through was even better. Mary and the Aquarium guide were both very friendly, and spend the extra time talking to non-diving family memebers, explaining what would be/was going on.

45 minute dive and interacting with the fish was great.

I look forward to further dives with Atlantic Edge.

First: Excellent experience, definitely worthwhile! I was literally inches from some incredibly cool sea life -- giant green moray eel, zebra shark, sea turtle, enormous rays! I brought a friend with a lot of experience in low-light fast-action photography, and he was able to get a couple of pictures that were really amazing. The DMs and aquarium personnel were superb; high-energy, professional, and friendly -- very positive experience, and definitely recommended!

All in all: great experience, fun for both myself and my photographer friend. There's a certain air of "domestication" about it, but it's still very worthwhile and a great way to get close to some really incredible animals.
