It may seem like dive season is just about over, but there are still plenty of opportunities to get together and do some diving related stuff (even some opportunities still left to dive!).  Don't let the cold weather and impending winter get you down - join us for an event or two and have some fun and keep yourself in the diving mindset!

Happy Hours

Nov. 3rd - Happy Hour in Alexandria:  Join us for Happy Hour at Southside 815 at 5:30pm.

Nov. 4th - Happy Hour in Baltimore:  Join us at DuClaw Brewing Co. for happy hour at 5:30pm.

Both Happy Hours are informal get togethers for divers to meet up, talk about diving, relax and have some fun.  If you aren't a diver yet, this would be a great chance to come out and learn a little bit more about diving - what better way to learn about diving than from divers!

Crystal River Trips

Want to get out of town for a few days to get some diving in?  Consider one of the upcoming Crystal River trips (Dec. 17th-20 and Jan. 21-24)  Crystal River is a great destination for divers of all skill levels.  In just a few short days you'll snorkel with Manatees, do a drift dive in the Rainbow River and dive Devil's Den - one of the coolest and most unique dives you'll find anywhere.  Click Here for More Information

Oyster Dives

We have weekly Oyster Dive trips going out on Fridays and Saturdays in the Chesapeake Bay.  This is another great opportunity for divers of all skill levels - and you don't even have to jump on a plane.  The boat leaves out of the South River in Annapolis, so it's only about a 1 hour drive from most spots in the DC/Baltimore area.  Diving for oysters is a lot of fun, and you can generally find a good amount of oysters to take home with you.  Soon its going to be too cold to do this, so grab your wetsuit and come out and dive for oysters!  Click here for More Information.

Fall Hours

We have new hours for Oct 11th through Nov. 30th:

Monday-Friday 12pm-7pm

Saturday: 10am-6pm

Sunday: Closed

Cool Video on Coral Gardening

Check on this video on 'Coral Gardening' in the South Pacific - it's a really cool example of how humans can have a positive impact on the marine environment.

This is very similiar to the Coral Restoration Foundation and the work they are doing in the Florida Keys.  If after watching this video you're inspired to get involved, consider joining us on one of our Coral Restoration Trips - YOU can have a hands on impact on a project just like this one!

January Aquarium Dates

At long last we have January Aquarium dates!  We will be having Aquarium Dives on January 16th and January 23rd.  Treat yourself to some awesome diving in the dead of winter - come out and dive with us!!

Want to give this as a gift?  An aquarium diver gift card allows you to give this experience to someone as a gift without having to pick a date for them.  You will get a card that you can give to them that has a code they can use for online  registration when they have picked a date.

Environmental Event at the National Aquarium in Baltimore

Please join us on October 24th, United Nations Day, at the National Aquarium In Baltimore.  In partnership with the United Nations Development Program, SustainaMetrix, US Fish and Wildlife Service Coastal Program, Rhode Island Sea Grant, Shared Earth Foundation, Stratford Capital Group and the National Aquarium Institute - we will be hosting an inaugural event for an organization that is a global model for sustainability.   The name of the region is Talamanca, Costa Rica and the organization that we will be highlighting is ANAI.  ANAI developed the vision for community based eco-agriculture over 30 years ago and has slowly and steadily built a global model for stewardship.  Today, the Talamanca Initiative is frequently looked to as a model for developing countries to emulate, as well as a training ground for the extension of this work to other countries and regions. ANAI has the track record, credibility, capability and motivation to serve as a global model.
