EFR Instructor Course May 31

Teach CPR and First Aid! As
an Emergency First Responder (EFR) Instructor, you will be qualified to
train and certify in CPR, First Aid and AED use.
This Atlantic Edge EFR program will provide you with the
training necessary to teach the Emergency First Response Primary Care
(CPR), Emergency First Response Secondary Care (First Aid) and Care for
Children courses. Through independent study, classroom sessions and
practice teaching assignments, you will learn to conduct these courses.

Dive
the Taylor Model Basin
|
|
The Taylor Model basin is a pool on the Carderock Navy
Base - onel like you've never seen before! This pool is
nearly a mile long and is used to test model subs for the Navy.
There are some upcoming events taking place in the model basin and they
are looking for a few able bodies to come in and dive and help clean
the basin.
This is a pretty cool opportunity to dive something
incredibly unique. If you are interested in helping, email us at diving@atlanticedge.com
- we are compiling a list right now and we will schedule a date and
time to go over and dive. In all likelihood the dive(s) will take
place Thursdays and Fridays after work and on Saturdays.
Requirements: must be a certified diver and US citizen

Time Job Opportunity

We
are looking for someone to work part time at Atlantic Edge to help us
prepare gear and paperwork for classes. This job involves filling
tanks, preparing paperwork to go to classes, packing gear on trucks,
etc. This job is approximately 8-10 hours per week, and hours are
flexible.

Scuba Diving Internships Available
|
|
Atlantic Edge has two new Internship programs for college
students and recent graduates looking to gain experience. We have
immediate openings for two summer Marketing Interns. Summer
marketing interns will work with us to promote our scuba diving classes
and trips in a variety of different capacities. For University of
Maryland students this program has already been approved for
credit. For students of other universities we will work with you
and your university to set it up to be recognized for credit.
We also have a 12 month Instructional Internship
available. This program is designed for someone who wants to get
into scuba diving as a full time job. In this internship we will
train you as a PADI Divemaster and PADI Instructor and teach you the
inner workings of how a successful dive operation runs. You
will gain exposure to all aspects of the dive industry
including retail, training, travel, equipment repair and a dive
charter operation, to successfully prepare you for a career in any area
of the dive industry you choose.

Rules
Proposed to Help Save Coral Reefs

(May 12, 2009) - An international team of scientists has proposed a set
of basic rules to help save the world's imperiled coral reefs from
ultimate destruction.
Their
proposal is being unveiled at the World Ocean Conference 2009 in Manado,
Indonesia, where leaders of six regional governments plus Australia and
the United States are meeting to declare the largest-ever marine reserve
in world history, the Coral Triangle Initiative.
